Comprehensive list of video sites.

Holidays and a chance to catch up on blogs and Twitter. I found some inspirational posts from the Global Digital Citizen Foundation’s Blog. First of all, 100 best video sites for educators open HERE.

Global Digital Citizen Foundation

I suggest subscribing to Global Digital Citizen Foundation’s Blog for inspirational reading and creative ideas especially about using technology and lots more teaching topics.

Edutopia is also another blog to subscribe to. This post (below) by Beth Holland, on using ICT, suggests the best ways use digital tools and gives links to some free sites. Beth makes a great concluding comment.

Edutopia Cardboard box

Give students the tools to demonstrate learning.

The challenge is to seek out the empty and timeless tools, to find the apps that give students the most options for how they demonstrate their learning. In other words, we need to let the tools become the box. Beth Holland

One of Beth’s suggestions that I’ve just signed up to is  ThingLink (iOS and Web) which enables links, images, videos, sound, and text as hotspots to be added on top of a picture.  The free teacher subscription also has student groups. Can’t wait to give it a go…endless possibilities.

Some fabulous ways to use photographs.

Also from Global Digital Citizen Foundation’s Blog.

Snapguide: A Place for Makers

An annotated photo guide is Snapguide . One use could be for ESL students to create ‘how to guides’.

    • Hi Bess, yes it looks like it has some excellent possibilities. I’m thinking of using it to analyse text or to use an image to develop functional grammar concepts such as circumstance. To get to understand ThingLink I’ve joined the “challenge” Do you want to do it with me? It is 10 steps and we have till August 1st. It is an opportunity to build a PLN.
