Welcome to EAL Stage 1
In 2016, students will create their own Edublog site to document their learning. Through their site, they will communicate, connect and develop critical thinking by reading and responding to comments on their posts from other students.
Stage 1 English as an Additional Language (EAL) will be taught for the first time in 2016 as part of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).
Stage 1 EAL is designed to improve students’ general proficiency in the English language. There is an emphasis on communication, comprehension, analysis, and text creation. This subject leads to Stage 2 English as an Additional Language, which has a focus on developing students’ academic literacy skills, and may also lead to other Stage 2 English subjects.
