AISSA Workshop: Flipping the Classroom & YouTube

On the Monday 17th February I presented a PowerPoint on using YouTube in the classroom. I demonstrated how I use my own video and YouTube videos as part of my learning units for ESL year 11 and 12 and English Year 8.

I then demonstrated how to create a YouTube Channel and how to add playlists and favourites.

It was a wonderful experience to share my learning with colleagues from a wide range of schools.

There is always so much to say and share. So here are some other resources that I have found useful.

Resources

·      Examples of flipped movies

·      A comprehensive screencasting list

·      Camtasia for Mac (this is the software I use)

·      Verso provocations (examples of creating provocations)

·      Verso App (I use this for student discussion & visible learning)

·      YouTube Chop

·      TedEd Lessons: Use Ted Ed videos for lessons

·      Flipped Learning

  1. Experimentation is the root of creativity so no one has to be an expert, just willing to give new ideas a go. Thanks for sharing yours.

    • Thanks Bess,I’m not an expert but I enjoy trying new pedagogy and web tools. Sharing on the blog is a most useful way to document my findings. I hope you can make use of the resources on this page. Ann
